Vermont is famous for its beautiful Marble and Serpentine. The state also has a variety of rocks, minerals, crystals, and fossils. Vermont even had its own Gold rush back in the 1850’s. You can still pan for Gold in many locations around the state.

You can also find minerals such as Garnets, Tourmaline, and Quartz-family minerals.

You’ll find that quarries and road cuts are the best places to rockhound in Vermont. Some quarries will yield high quality Marble and Serpentine.
